A New Thing c2002 Rick Horvath OGWA Music

One day we will ask ourselves
Someday on the last night free
Listen to the world outside
One day we will wait and see
We're living on our worst designs
That may never right

One day on our world of pain
Listen out for yesterday
One day we will look in wonder
Of everything that's said to be
You think there's a solution on the wall
Settle for it now
You know there's a solution, come on!
Where are we now?

Only if we care enough
Will a new thing come our way to love

One day on your way to God
Don't wait up for me to see
You're going on a wasted life
Take it from me
Everyday I knock myself out
One day I will wait and see
There's no way to believe it somehow
Not until we leave

Only if we care enough
Can a new thing come our way to love

Hey baby, I ain't askin' much of you
Wo now baby, I ain't askin' much of you
Yeah, just a big, big big-a hunk o' love will do
Hey baby, anything you can do
No, no, no now baby
Anything you can do
Yeah, just a big, big big-a hunk o' love will do

Don't be a stingy little mama
You might starve me half to death
You could spare a kiss or two and still have plenty left
Oh baby, I ain't askin' much of you
Just a big, big big-a hunk o' love will do - piano

You're just a natural born beehive
Filled with honey to the top
Well I ain't greedy baby, all I want is all you got
Oh baby, I ain't askin' much of you.
Just a big, big big-a hunk o' love will do - play it me

I got a wishbone in my pocket
I got a rabbit's foot 'round my wrist
All ya have to do is give me just one sweet kiss
Now baby, I ain't askin' much of you
Just a big, big big-a hunk o' love will do
I got a big, big big-a hunk o' love for you

The sun was leaving that day
Setting low on the bay
Summer breezes were blowing on me
Wasn't looking for fun
Ordered cola & rum
When a local girl ran into me

Caught her looking at my way
Where I stood I would say
She had a beautiful smile you could see
Felt my heart skip a beat
Almost fell off my seat
When she started to come up to me

Oh Boy- What just happened?
I never saw this coming my way
Oh Boy - and when it happened
My heart started thumpin
And fish started jumpin
It turned into a very good day

No more playin the game
Now my life ain't the same
Since that little girl ran into me
We were an absolute match
My Caribbean catch
Nothing better for miles to see

We're out on my boat
Havin fun where we float
Setting sail for my tropical isle
Got a strong southern wind
And a bottle of gin
Plus the girl with her wonderful smile

As we tow out of port
The news to report
Is the weather ahead's looking fine
All the time in the world
Every sail is unfurled
Hey Babe - Let's stay for awhile!

Oh Boy - What just happened?
I never knew how good life could be
Oh Boy - and when it happened
Her life flooded on me
Just like a tsunami
I never thought it'd happen to me

Coming home
To the place that I love, coming home
Coming home
To the love of my life, coming home

And I know
There'll be so much we will say
As we laugh about our day
I will find my way coming home

In my home
Where I work and I play, in my home
When I roam
And I think of my love, I'm at home

Don't you know
I don't have to ask her why
She is always on my side
Let it fill my life, coming home

Don't ever ask me why I will find my way 'cause I Have a place to love, coming home

Hey papa, what's it gonna be?
Have you forgottne the needs of this family?
With ya head hung up in fightin'
And your finger on the oil
You're not spending enough time here, you see

Don't you see this hurts humanity
We've forgotten days when we were free
We'd be better off in China
I hear they pay good in Japan
Thanks for all this crummy economy

We've been waiting so long
Waiting so long (what went wrong?)
Get us back where we belong
Daddy B.

Your dad was quite the same, it seems
When I read his lips they said nothin' to me
But you're comfy with your riches
And your future library
Seems the fruit always falls close to its tree

We give you all our money
We've shown you so much pain
We sacrified our children
Always is the same
You think you're very clever
You look like such a fool
Would have thought you'd finally get it
From all that ridicule!

We packed up our hopes and our families
Left behind all of our friends
Back in the cities and factories
Where the long working days never end

Clinged to the last hard earned dollar
Traveling across county lines
Heading out west where the wilderness sets
To a new world they said we could find

Nothing was readily had - for miles around
'Cept the claim to the land that our ancestors handed down

With all our hard sweat and ambition
And many days building our home
Starting a new life on Emmitsburg Road

We managed to set up a household
Planted our crops in the ground
Tended to life, kids and a wife
But was always aware of the sound

The troops from the south were upon us
Set up their camps in the field
Confederates commanded the orchard
And the south end of Cemet'ry Ridge

Many a man wouldn't see their home again
And their families just sitting around and wondering when

Our boys came from all of the region
As far as the 20th Maine
Fighting for glory on Emmitsburg Road

Sometimes a man must follow what he believes
But the pain left far behind seems to always stay alive, it seems

Sent to their deaths for their nation
Following an ill-fated charge
Searchin' for loved ones on Emmitsburg Road
We're searchin' for loved ones on Emmitsburg Road

Boy you could sure turn a head around
And take a hold of this man and turn him upside down
Your friends are talkin, you're meeting them all downtown
And you want me there to see, it means so much to me

From just a simple glance that blossomed to best friends
I finally have someone I'll cherish to the end

She's a fine woman - fine woman to me
Every day I wake up happy just to find her there
She's a fine woman - fine woman to me
Got a little piece of her I carry everywhere
Fine woman to me

I remember the night when we first met
She happened to stop in for the second show
The night was up, my heart was fallin' down, down, down
But it was so plain to see
Oh boy, she was looking at me

Sometimes I sit around and wonder 'bout my life
But when all is said and done I found a friend for life

Wouldn't have believed I could find such lovin till it fell into my heart
And I do believe she's a might fine woman
I could tell it from the start

Mango & Lime Fiesta - the craziest party around
I could use a siesta - cause I've been going since the sun went down
Tropical fruit in a blender - and a bottle of my favorite rum
Mango & Lime Fiesta - there's somethin' for everyone

I don't wanna be late - gotta bring a date
I'll spend some time - with a Key West lime
If I want another fellow that's yellow
I could go insane - looking for plantain ('cause they're green)
I'll lay on the beach with my favorite peach
Or try to escape with a concord grape

Grab your baby, come on let's go
We're gonna have some fun tonight

CHORUS

I was dreamin alot - about a big kumquat
- I just maya - want a papaya
Trade my jeans for some tangerines
Wouldn't gripe - about a plum that's ripe
I'm really a fan-a - a healthy banana
Could only hope - for a cantelope
Grab your baby, come on let's go
We're gonna have some fun tonight

CHORUS

I'm a desperado - for some avacado
But I'd be afraid a - trying tomato
If I only - had a guacomony
Let's arrange - to get lots of orange
I would be Magellan - looking for a melon
If the moment suits - let's pick grapefruits

Grab your baby, come on let's go
We're gonna mix it up tonight

Nothing Is Serious words and music © 2007 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
words and music © 2007 Rick Horvath OGWA Music

Getting up early
Before anybody
Standing on bus stops
Listening to teachers
Lectures and preachers
One day your mind pops

You mom and your daddy
Your brothers and sisters
All to much chatter
Finding a 'soulmate'
Starting a family
What does it matter?

It's ok 'cause nothing is serious
'Cept your one true passion in life
It's ok 'cause nothing is serious
So go on and have a good time

Our kids aren't happy
They're pierced and look crappy
Clueless and ego-ed
The ugly, now pretty
An overweight city
Where did your pride go?

The rising inflation
A Microsoft nation
What were they thinking?
Viagra erections
Witness protection
We're coming and going

Don't fret 'cause nothing is serious
Except the one thing you love in your life
The whole thing is mostly erroneous
So just go on and do what feels right

Iraqi beheadings
J-lo and weddings
Who's keeping score here?
Life's tough decisions
Its crossroads and bridges
Let's flip a coin here

The whole business hasn't been serious
Since the young kids were given the ball
A 30 something record exectutive
Won't have a clue what to do with it all

It's ok 'cause nothing is serious
Except your one true passion in life
So don't fret 'cause nothing is serious
And go on and have a good life!

Take my dreams away
Take them all away
Oh My My Oh, Oh My My Oh
Take my family
Every friend from me
Oh My My Oh, Oh My My Oh

Everything is all in front of me
Found another way, another day alone
When it finally comes around to what will be
Well it's alright

You take my breath away
When you're holding me
OMMO, OMMO
You gave your life to me
Every fantasy
OMMO, OMMO

Share another day with me
When it's over we will laugh the night away
Sunny days ahead for us to see
And it's alright

One More Chance c2003 Rick Horvath OGWA Music

One more chance for your love
Is all I need to show you
All I see, all I learn
The more I get to know you
And I know when I say
I want you more in every way
And I know I've acted like a fool before
But I won't be that anymore

All the times we have shared
A scrapbook filled with memories
All the laughs, all the plans
We have a chance to add to these
Let me in, let me try
And find the words to tell you why
Oh I know I've acted like a fool before
But I won't go back anymore

One more chance for you love
Is all I'm ever thinking of
To get back what we were
And hear you tell me you're in love with me

And I know when I say
I want you more in everyway
And I know I've acted like a fool before
But I won't do that anymore
Yes I know I've acted like a fool before
But I won't do that anymore

With a feeling of hope and a sense of pride
I begin my journey to be by her side
And I'm always greeted with a wonderful smile
Feel my cares escaping me for a while - oh oh

Pamela - sure and sweet
There's a world of loving right at your feet
Pamela - can't you see
There'd be more for you with more of me
But I'm glad - you're the best thing I ever had

I can now be happy for a little while
And your friends will tell you that they like my style
Oh I know for sure you've always been real
Have I told you enough 'bout the way I feel for you?

Pamela - precious child
I will hold you even if it's just for a while
Pamela - oh can't you see
Think about how everything could be
I'm glad - you're the best friend I ever had

And by the water
Warm summer breeze and stary night
As we go dancin' under the pale moonlight
As if we're dreaming
Holding you, calling your name out loud
As we go sailing over the sea of clouds

You're like a burning fever - you're so hard to shake
Will you ever feel the same some day when you wake?

Pamela - oh what a smile
I can hold you even if it's just for a while
Pamela - say no more
I won't push you now 'cause I know you're not sure
Pamela - soft and sweet
Think about me so my song's complete
Pamela - oh can't you see
There'd be more for you with more of me
How sad - you're the best thing I never had

Shameful Babylon - words and music © 2008 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
words and music © 2008 Rick Horvath OGWA Music

Packed up my things and moved far from Babylon
It's getting too cold, I couldn't stay there too long
Told my friends and family I'd be better off
- Don't know just where I'd be goin'

All the greedy folks from town seem to have my name
Guess I'll find another place to go
Don't want to waste time out there on that cold island shore
But I know that one day I will go back to

Chorus
Babylon - a place where I belonged
I laid my hat at home for 20 years
But my world went wrong - when the town began to hunt us
Seems they always wanted more
And the people wound up poor and forgotten

Used to play on the back streets up and down Babylon
Causing all sorts of mischeif in our minds
Noone ever stopped our play
Everything was quite ok - back then

Had my first real paying gig around Huntington
Dated all the pretty girls I could find
Beautiful island glistening in the sun
Now I'm starting to wonder if it was mine

In Babylon - I got my first degree
I thought I'd finally see it all unfold
- But later on as I suddenly caught a glimpse
They had another plan by holding out their hand - so forget them

My Babylon - I have to leave you now
I'll get to you somehow down the road
Shameful Babylon - I bid you all farewell
But I guess it's just as well
I will fight my way through hell and back to

Babylon - a place where I belonged
I laid my hat at home for 20 years
As I think about - your pretty lakes and wonders
I'll come back to you somehow
I'll hide out here for now till you welcome me home

That's Just How She Is - words and music © 2005 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
words and music © 2005 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
All instruments: Rick Horvath

She wakes up in the morning to the cold outside
Trembling from her dream
Searches for stockings on the hallway floor
Never seems to find what she needs
Gazes out the window at the pouring rain
Wondering how her live will unwind
Fixes the kettle, breaks a tiny sweat
Feels she's wasting time

She's just a little bit shy and a little bit wild
She takes a little more time
Ain't it good to know 'cause
That's just how she is

Never thinks she'll ever get to 35
Constantly looses her way
Dreams about driving down the west coast high
Gripping for another day
She hasn't read the paper from the day before
Always has too much on her brain
Listens loud to Nilson on an old LP
Scratches and driving rain

Chorus

When she realizes life ain't just about the day to day
She may finally find her way

She's just a little bit shy and a little bit wild
She needs a little more time
Ain't it good to know 'cause
That's just how she is

The Valley Of Antiago - words and music © 2007 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
words and music © 2007 Rick Horvath OGWA Music
All instruments: Rick Horvath

Hey buddy, can you spare my life
I got 3 young children and a loving wife - oh
There's something violent in the air today
There's a-storm a-brewin
Gotta get 'em away - oh

Hold on, Hold on
I'm coming back
Hold on, Hold on
I'm coming back
To the Valley of Antiago

Rumor has it there's a crazy man
Livin' near the village
By the burial Land - oh
He walks with demons down a dusty trail
Seems to change the weather
Make your blood run pale - oh
But we gotta find our way around him

CHORUS

Seven weeks on the open plains
Taking toll on your body
Playing tricks on your brain - oh
Clouds are circling overhead
Open up to a clearing where we'll make our bed - oh
But he's never too far behind me

The song is dedicated to our US Troops fighting overseas. Please show your support and download a copy today.

There's a sense of fear, a loss of hope
A sadness in your eye
You live your life like you number's up
But your bravery helps you fly
You made the choice - to fight for your freedom
In hopes to make it right again
These truths we hold - oh oh

With every mile between us
You're with us tonight
God speed to a life that leads us
Cause you're with us tonight

The sleepless nights, the endless days
A threatened way of livin
With nothin more that the buddy at your back
But you work with what you're given
You won't forget the girl back home
And think about the bond you've grown
To have and hold - and cherish when you're old

CHORUS

All that I ask for, all I pray
All of the children return one day
And when it happens
Gonna take a lot of time for me - and you - oh oh
